My Work
I love to educate, write, and tell interesting stories. See some of the ways I’ve done that in the following samples of my work.
Online Courses
Since beginning work at Virtuous, I’ve been responsible for planning and executing several new product courses. While I worked with teammates, I handled a significant amount of the curriculum planning, script writing, and video editing for all courses:
Responsive Fundraising: Level 2 (This is my baby! I planned and built this entire course myself.)
Sample Curricula
Over the years, I’ve taught 20+ different courses. Here are some course materials, both from classes I’ve actually taught, and those I’d like to.
20th-Century Western Art Music History – Furman University – Spring 2016
Classical Music in Popular Culture – Course Proposal – Pedagogy Class Assignment
Writing
Here is some of my musicological research and writing that’s out in the world.
“Hearing the ‘Töne eines Passionsliedes’ in J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio: The Nineteenth-Century Critical Reception of BWV 248,” Bach: Journal of the Riemenschneider Bach Institute of Baldwin Wallace University 45, no. 2 (2014): 34–67. I won an award from the American Bach Society for this one!
“Memory and Commemoration in Robert Schumann’s Album Leaves,” PhD diss. (Indiana University, 2019).
Public Speaking
I love lecturing and speaking to audiences of all kinds. As part of my job at the Curtis Institute of Music, I regularly researched, wrote, memorized, and presented introductions at student recitals.
Curtis Institute of Music – November 29, 2021 – Introduction to Franz Schubert’s Winterreise
Conference Presentations
Though it’s been awhile, I’ve presented quite a few papers at conferences.
